New Home Construction Process

At Dimension Inc., we have incorporated healthy materials, products, and methods into our company culture and the new home construction and design/build processes. We also understand the importance of educating our clients about the healthy building options available.

We have made health a priority when it comes to home building, and indoor air quality is one area we focus on. Poor indoor air quality can cause or exacerbate many symptoms. Sometimes called “sick building syndrome,” these acute health and comfort issues include headaches, fatigue, skin irritation, dizziness, nausea, and a variety of respiratory problems. Indoor air quality is even more important for people with asthma or allergies.

Healthy home building has gained popularity as more people are educated on the causes and effects of bad indoor air quality. These areas include…

  • Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from carpeting, upholstery, adhesives, manufactured wood products, paint, varnish, cleaning products, and more.
  • Inadequate ventilation.
  • Biological contaminants like mold, bacteria, pollen, and viruses.

With health consciousness trending, demand is growing for toxin-free construction materials, low or no VOC finishes, and allergen prevention throughout the home. You will find this and more in the new homes that we construct.

Wisconsin’s Healthiest Home

After evaluation by Indoor Environmental Testing, Inc. based in Madison, a Dimension Inc. built home in Sussex was recognized as the “healthiest” home in Wisconsin. The home was tested for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), relative humidity, carbon dioxide, mold, and airborne particle matter among other air quality parameters.

According to the findings, the home achieved a score of “Excellent,” the highest rating available. Review the report for more information and contact us to learn how we can design and build you a home or addition that not only enhances your quality of life but allows you to live a healthier lifestyle.

The Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee recognized this home with two bronze awards for the 2018 Parade of Homes – Best in Construction and Best Overall Model Home.
