Our healthy home in Kenosha is nearing completion, a project that is the ultimate level in creating healthy home environments.

In discussing this project, we want to emphasize that our healthy home is not to be confused with “Green” remodeling. We understand that “green” is an important concept, but creating a healthy home is not the same as green remodeling and sometimes they oppose one another. Our customers’ health demands required our design/build team to create the ultimate healthy home environment for her and her family. As she states, this is being built as an “immune healing healthy home.” We have achieved this concept through this build, which is our second healthy home we have intentionally built to date.

Not every customer needs this level of healthy home construction, but everyone looking to build or remodel a home should want to achieve some standard of healthy indoor air and water environment into their home. This needs to be done at every level of the process starting with design, continuing with specifications and material selection, and finishes with the construction process right down to the final cleaning.

Too many current homes, including many newly built homes, are not achieving this type of standard. In addition, not many contractors, designers, and vendors even understand what this means. The Dimension, Inc. team does. It is unfortunate that current standards do little to address this. When homes are not built to a certain level of health standards, we leave it to chance. When it is intentional, it leads to incredible results that greatly benefit all of us, even if you knowingly don’t have any direct health conditions that require it.

We spend 90% of our lives indoors, and most of that time in our own homes. Now more than ever, we are spending more time working from home due to current world conditions. Over time, the quality of the air we breathe and the water we drink will impact our life and health. Shouldn’t we all consider that when building a new home or making changes to your existing home?
